3.01 Introduction

Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) 1994, Regulation, Standards & Codes of Practice

The Malaysia OSH Act 1994 or ACT 514 became active on 24th February 1994.

XYZ, being a business operating in Malaysia, is obliged to adhere to the Act, any amendments to the Act, and the Regulation and any amendments to the Regulation.

Various other legislation will affect the business, and includes Malaysian Standards, DOSH Codes of Practice, and environmental statutory laws. Local government laws also have affect in the way the Building Code and environmental legislation is interpreted.

This section specifically concentrates on the OSHA 1994, the OSH Regulation, Standards, and Codes of Practice.
